The Indian football team is amping up its preparations for the AFC Asian Cup qualifier against Singapore. Team management has summoned mid-fielder Brandon Fernandes and defender Asheer Akhtar to join the national camp under head coach Khalid Jamil.
The announcement came after the team's commendable third-place performance in the recent CAFA Nations Cup. Jamil, who has taken over from the previous coach Manolo Marquez, has unveiled a 30-member probables squad, which includes stalwart Sunil Chhetri.
The provisional squad will commence training on Saturday at a camp in Bengaluru, aiming to finalize the team for crucial matches on October 9 and 14 against Singapore. Jamil had strategically rested Chhetri during the CAFA Nations Cup.
