The United States, historically dominant in the men's 4x400 relay, faced an unexpected setback at the World Championships on Saturday. Despite their track record, the team could not secure a spot in the finals, finishing sixth in their heat after a disruptive exchange with Zambia.

Traditionally strong in the 4x400 relay with 12 wins in 19 finals, the U.S. team found themselves trailing after the first two legs. The situation worsened following a clash at the second baton change, leaving anchor Jenoah McKiver to start his leg in last place.

McKiver made a valiant effort to recover but ultimately faded, finishing sixth. South Africa and Qatar led the way, while Botswana displayed depth, winning their heat even without gold medallist Busang Collen Kebinatshipi. All eyes now turn to Sunday's final, the last event of the championships.
