Pakistan's cricket sensation, Babar Azam, found himself in hot water after a moment of frustration led to a financial penalty and a demerit point. The incident occurred during the third ODI against Sri Lanka when Azam, disappointed by his dismissal, struck the stumps with his bat.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) took swift action, citing a breach of Article 2.2, which prohibits the abuse of cricket equipment. Azam acknowledged his misconduct, accepting the proposed sanction without dispute, thus avoiding a formal hearing.

Despite the setback, Babar Azam was instrumental in Pakistan's series sweep over Sri Lanka, amassing 165 runs, the highest of the series. His performance included a remarkable 20th ODI century, reaffirming his prowess on the field.
