Timon Haugan clinched his sixth career victory, delivering Norway's first World Cup Alpine ski season win at Sunday's men's slalom in Val d'Isere.

Haugan's performance, which included overcoming significant back pain, propelled him to the top of the slalom standings with 195 points. Swiss world champion Loic Meillard finished second, narrowly behind Haugan, after topping the initial run by 0.05 seconds.

Henrik Kristoffersen secured third place, marking his 97th podium finish, while Norwegians occupied four of the top six places. The next slalom event is set for December 22 in Italy's Alta Badia.
