In a nail-biting encounter at the Nonthaburi Stadium, India's futsal team clinched a dramatic 3-3 draw against Nepal in their second SAFF Futsal Championship 2026 match. Skipper Nikhil Mali was the hero of the day, scoring a last-second equaliser.
The game, which unfolded over two intense 20-minute halves, saw Nepal, ranked 114th in the world, draw first blood with a precise counter-attack that exposed India's defensive lapses. Bijay Shrestha's to Amit Lama's swift pass allowed Bikrant Narsingh Rana to capitalize with an unerring finish.
However, the 133rd-ranked Indian side composed quickly, with Anmol Adhikari delivering a pinpoint pass to Vincent Laltluangzela, who leveled the score. Despite Nepal's strong second-half performance, India's resilience proved pivotal, with Adhikari and Mali ensuring a shared result in a match that kept fans on the edge of their seats. (ANI)
