Karnataka State Cricket Association president Venkatesh Prasad appealed to Royal Challengers Bengaluru to retain their 2026 IPL home fixtures at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, emphasizing the unwavering support of local fans. The stadium recently received conditional approval from the Karnataka government, following negotiations with state agencies.

The Chinnaswamy Stadium has been cricket-less since a tragic incident on June 4 led to the death of 11 fans during RCB's victory celebrations. Prasad insisted that RCB owes it to their dedicated fanbase to continue playing in Bengaluru, though discussions about moving matches to Mumbai, Pune, or Raipur persist.

RCB acknowledged KSCA's efforts and the government's decision but cited ongoing concerns. KSCA secretary Santosh Menon assured RCB that government recommendations have been implemented and urged cooperation to resolve pending issues. Amid potential interest from other franchises, the BCCI promised more international fixtures to compensate for previously missed events.
