Shivam Lohakare emerged victorious in the men's javelin event at the Indian Open Throws Competition, held at the National Institute of Sports, by securing a gold with an impressive throw of 81.08m.
Anand Singh, representing SSCB, claimed silver with a distance of 76.94m. Meanwhile, seasoned athlete and Asian Games medallist, Kishore Kumar Jena, earned the bronze with a throw of 74.75m, marking a successful return following an ankle injury.
In another highlight, Nishchay came close to setting a new national record in the U18 discus throw category, achieving a distance of 63.90m, just shy of Arjun's 2010 record set in Coimbatore.
