In a gripping contest at the ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships, the Indian men's team staged a dramatic comeback, defeating Slovakia 3-2 in an edge-of-the-seat Group 7 tie. The victory propelled India to the top of their group standings, setting the stage for their next encounter against Guatemala.
Slovakia initially took the lead as Lubomir Pistej narrowly defeated India's Manush Shah in a close-fought opening match. However, Manav Thakkar, India's highest-ranked player, swiftly leveled the score with a dominant performance against Jakub Zelinka.
Despite a setback when Slovakia's Wang Yang outplayed Harmeet Desai, India showed remarkable resilience. Manav Thakkar delivered another outstanding performance, followed by a clutch win from Manush Shah, sealing India's 3-2 victory. Both Indian men's and women's teams will face their final group matches on Thursday.
