Bengaluru's IPL 2026 Final Sideline Sparks Disappointment from KSCA
The Karnataka State Cricket Association has expressed its disappointment after the IPL 2026 final was moved from Bengaluru to Ahmedabad by the BCCI. Despite detailed preparations and improvements at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, the BCCI shifted the venue, citing unspecified requirements, leaving the local association seeking clarity.
The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has voiced its "disappointment" following the decision by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to relocate the IPL 2026 final from Bengaluru to Ahmedabad. Traditionally, Bengaluru would host the final as the Royal Challengers Bengaluru are the defending champions.
Despite extensive renovations and enhanced security measures at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, the BCCI shifted the venue, citing unspecified requirements from local associations and authorities. KSCA officials, including President Venkatesh Prasad, had formally communicated their readiness and eagerness to host the matches, but specific reasons for the shift remain unaddressed.
The KSCA remains committed to hosting future cricket events, citing the successful management of IPL matches earlier this season. Although playoffs were rerouted, international matches, including a T20I and ODI, will soon return to the venue.
