Squash players Abhay Singh, Velavan Senthilkumar, Joshna Chinappa, and Rathika Seelan are poised to claim doubles victories in the HCL National Doubles Squash Championships. Both men's and mixed doubles and group stage matches witnessed dominant performances, setting the stage for exciting finals at the Indian Squash Academy.
At the HCL National Doubles Squash Championships, the top seeds showcased their prowess as they dominated the courts. On Friday, the defending men's doubles champions Abhay Singh and Velavan Senthilkumar cruised into the final, easily defeating competitors Ravi Dixit and Vikas Mehra with scores of 11-1 and 11-6.
In an equally impressive display, Senthilkumar paired with Joshna Chinappa and Abhay Singh with Rathika Seelan to advance to the mixed doubles finals. Meanwhile, Joshna and Rathika topped Group A in the women's doubles, securing their place in the finals and cementing their status as favorites.
The semifinals of the mixed doubles saw gripping matches, with Senthilkumar and Chinappa overcoming Rahul Baitha and Anika Dubey with scores of 11-6 and 11-9. Abhay and Rathika battled past Suraj Kumar Chand and Nirupama Dubey, winning 12-10 and 11-7, thus setting the stage for thrilling final encounters.
