Indian cricket icon Anil Kumble has praised the remarkable prowess and consistency displayed by young cricketer Vaibhav Sooryavanshi during the ongoing IPL season. Highlighting his extraordinary performance, Kumble expressed admiration for Sooryavanshi's fearless batting style.

Sooryavanshi has rewritten IPL history by smashing 65 sixes, surpassing Chris Gayle's record of 59. Currently the IPL's leading run-scorer with 680 runs and holding the Orange Cap, Sooryavanshi has marked a groundbreaking achievement in cricket as a teenager.

Kumble emphasized that the young player's achievements are not fleeting. "Holding the Orange Cap isn't about excelling once; it's about consistent performance," he noted. Kumble also acknowledged that Sooryavanshi’s impressive run significantly pressures fellow player Yashasvi Jaiswal, who has struggled to match his form this season.

Jaiswal, scoring 426 runs with a strike rate of 153.24, has faced challenging opposition, but Kumble believes he still holds potential. Reflecting on their partnership, Kumble noted its effectiveness, even though Sooryavanshi predominantly contributed to the score.
