Andres Iniesta, the celebrated former midfielder for Barcelona and the Spanish national team, has taken up the role of head coach at Gulf United, a second-division club in the United Arab Emirates.

Iniesta, who played pivotal roles during a golden era for both club and country, including scoring the decisive goal in the 2010 World Cup final, retired from professional play in 2024 after his stint with Emirates Club.

Now embarking on his coaching journey, the 42-year-old stated, "Football has given me everything, and now I want to give something back through coaching." As he progresses towards obtaining his Pro Licence, Iniesta aims to mentor young talent at Gulf United with passion and dedication.
