Morocco's hopes for the upcoming World Cup have taken a hit with the loss of two key starters, Nayef Aguerd and Abde Ezzalzouli, due to injuries. In their place, Marwane Saadane and Amine Sbai have been brought into the squad, confirmed by both the Moroccan football federation and FIFA.

Aguerd, struggling with a persistent groin injury since March that necessitated surgery, faced additional setbacks when a fracture was discovered in April. Despite hopes for a recovery, Coach Mohamed Ouahabi decisively ruled him out for the North American tournament.

Ezzalzouli, injured during a recent friendly against Norway, suffered a knee injury after an awkward fall. His attempt to continue playing was unsuccessful, leading to his withdrawal from the team. Saadane and Sbai, who have been preparing with the squad, are set to fill the void as Morocco begins their campaign against Brazil this weekend.
