Tunisia has dismissed coach Sabri Lamouchi after a 5-1 defeat to Sweden in their opening World Cup match in Monterrey, as confirmed by the Tunisian Football Federation. Herve Renard, a fellow Frenchman, will fill the post for the remainder of the tournament.

Lamouchi, who began his tenure in January on a contract until 2028, leaves by mutual agreement. Under his management, Tunisia managed just one win in five matches, including losses to Austria and a heavy 5-0 defeat by Belgium in recent warm-up games.

Herve Renard, twice an Africa Cup of Nations winner, has been chosen due to his successful track record. His appointment might extend beyond the World Cup if Tunisia's performance improves, as stated by the FTF. Renard is set to join the team in Monterrey soon.
