Reports: Jags DT Dareus out 4-6 weeks after surgery

Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle Marcell Dareus was scheduled to undergo core muscle surgery on Thursday, which will sideline him for four to six weeks, according to multiple reports. He was injured in the Jaguars' win over the Cincinnati Bengals last Sunday.

Coach Doug Marrone said on Wednesday that Dareus had traveled to Philadelphia to visit Dr. William Meyers, a sports hernia specialist. Dareus, 29, is in his second full season with Jacksonville and has 13 tackles in six games.

He played his first six-plus seasons with the Buffalo Bills, who made him the No. 3 overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft. The Jaguars acquired him in a trade-in October 2017.
