Jets' Lowry suspended two games

Winnipeg Jets forward Adam Lowry has been suspended for two games following his hit on Calgary Flames defenseman Oliver Kylington during the Heritage Classic, the league announced Monday. Lowry has assessed a minor penalty for boarding with two seconds remaining in the second period of Winnipeg's 2-1 overtime victory over Calgary on Saturday at Mosaic Stadium in Regina, Saskatchewan.

The 26-year-old Lowry is a repeat offender under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. He was suspended in March last season for high-sticking Filip Forsberg of the Nashville Predators. Lowry will forfeit $71,138.22 in salary. Lowry has been held off the scoreboard in 12 games this season. He has recorded 113 points (53 goals, 60 assists) in 371 career games with Winnipeg since being selected by the Jets in the third round of the 2011 NHL Draft.
