(Update: Launched) SpaceX set to launch PSN SATRIA mission on Sunday

SpaceX is gearing up to launch the SATRIA satellite of PSN, a private satellite telecommunications company in Indonesia, into a geosynchronous transfer orbit. The launch is scheduled for Sunday, June 18, from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

The launch window, which spans 178 minutes, will open at 6:04 p.m. Eastern Time (22:04 UTC). In the event of any unforeseen delays or technical issues, a backup opportunity has been identified for Monday, June 19. The backup launch window will extend for 198 minutes, with liftoff potentially taking place at 5:54 p.m. Eastern Time (21:54 UTC), SpaceX said.

This mission marks yet another reuse of the first-stage booster, which has previously supported eight successful missions, including CRS-22, Crew-3, Turksat 5B, Crew-4, CRS-25, Eutelsat HOTBIRD 13G, O3b mPOWER, and four Starlink missions. This achievement demonstrates SpaceX's commitment to advancing reusable rocket technology and reducing the cost of space travel.

Following the separation of the first and second stages, Falcon 9's first stage will perform a landing on the "A Shortfall of Gravitas" droneship. This autonomous vessel will be stationed in the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean.

The webcast will commence approximately 15 minutes before liftoff, allowing viewers to experience the excitement and anticipation leading up to the mission.

The PSN SATRIA satellite is set to provide expanded broadband coverage to the people of Indonesia. According to PSN, SATRIA has a total transmission capacity of 150 Gbps using very high-throughput satellite (VHTS) technology and uses the Ka-Band frequency. The total transmission capacity is three times greater than the capacity of the nine active satellites currently used by Indonesia.
