South Korea's presidential office said it will suspend an inter-Korean agreement if a grave security issue arises, Yonhap news agency reported on Tuesday, after North Korea notified Japan of its plan to launch a satellite.
Tokyo and Seoul have said it could be a third attempt to put a spy satellite into orbit, in violation of U.N. resolutions that ban the North's use of ballistic missile technology.
South Korean officials have said they were reviewing the possibility of suspending some parts of a 2018 agreement with the North not to engage in actions that raise tension.
