SpaceX has set its sights on Tuesday, January 9, for the launch of a new batch of Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit. The Falcon 9 launch vehicle carrying 22 Starlink internet satellites will lift off at 9:06 p.m. PT from Space Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.

Tuesday's launch marks the 18th flight for Falcon 9's first stage booster, which previously supported various missions such as Crew-1, Crew-2, SXM-8, CRS-23, IXPE, Transporter-4, Transporter-5, Globalstar FM15, ISI EROS C-3, Korea 425, and seven Starlink missions.

Following stage separation, the first stage will make a landing on the "Of Course I Still Love You" droneship stationed in the Pacific Ocean.

The mission will be live-streamed on X @SpaceX approximately five minutes before liftoff. If necessary, additional launch windows are also open on Wednesday, January 10 starting at 9:08 p.m. PT.

Starlink is a satellite internet constellation project spearheaded by SpaceX to redefine global connectivity by providing high-speed, low-latency internet access to underserved and remote areas around the world. Satellite-based internet services like Starlink are crucial for bridging the digital divide, as traditional internet infrastructure often faces challenges in reaching remote locations.

Update 1

The Falcon 9 launch of 22 Starlink satellites, originally scheduled for January 9, has been postponed and is now set to take place on Thursday, January 11.
