Samsung Knox gets CC certification ahead of 2024 TV lineup launch

Samsung Knox, the trusted security solution integrated into Samsung's upcoming 2024 TVs, has achieved Common Criteria (CC) certification ahead of product launch. This marks the 10th consecutive year of CC certification for the top-tier security solution.

The CC certification is a globally recognized standard for assessing the security of IT products. It includes a Protection Profile (PP) and a Security Target (ST), both of which Samsung's security solution has successfully met.

Commenting on this achievement, Yongjae Kim, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, said, "As our daily lives become even more connected, Samsung understands the fundamental need that customers have for the privacy and security of their personal information. With this in mind, we're proud to have achieved 10 consecutive years of CC certification for Samsung Knox on our TVs, based on the continual strengthening of our security measures and standards."

CC certification underscores three core security features of Samsung Knox:

1. Knox actively detects potential hacking threats in real-time, flagging any unauthorized changes in critical sectors of Tizen OS, the core of Samsung TVs.
2. The solution verifies web pages accessed by users, preemptively blocking any phishing sites to safeguard user data and privacy.
3. It ensures seamless protection of users' sensitive personal data via a secure connection with Samsung Knox Vault, a dedicated processor for security functions

The CC Certification is acknowledged by 31 countries including Australia, Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ethiopia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Pakistan, Poland, Qatar, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States.
