A vessel has been struck by unknown projectiles 83 nautical miles southeast of Yemen's Aden, according to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) on Friday.
Despite the incident, all crew members are reported safe. The UKMTO did not identify the vessel involved. Since November, Houthi militants in Yemen have heightened drone and missile strikes in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. The militant group claims their actions support Palestinians affected by Israel's war in Gaza.
In response, Britain and the U.S. have conducted retaliatory strikes since February, targeting and neutralizing drones and bombing attack sites in Yemen.
