Revolutionizing DRDO: Government Plans Overhaul with Increased Budget and Staff

The government announced a plan to overhaul the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), based on suggestions from a high-level committee of technocrats, as revealed in the Rajya Sabha on Monday.
In a written response, Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth confirmed the committee, led by Dr. Vijaya Raghavan, recommended comprehensive reforms for the organization. He also addressed queries about increasing the budget allocation for various DRDO research projects.
Minister Seth stated that the DRDO plans to enhance its research staff in accordance with project requirements. Additionally, an Integrated Capability Development Plan, formulated with all stakeholders, will be reviewed annually to meet the security needs of the armed forces.
