The rapid adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has spurred growth but opened avenues for cybercriminals to misuse AI for sophisticated attacks, Kaspersky has revealed. The cybersecurity giant highlights the pressing need for businesses to invest in proactive cybersecurity defenses to counter new-age challenges.

Kaspersky, a global cybersecurity and digital privacy company, has integrated AI across its products to counter threats and safeguard users against evolving cyberattacks. The misuse of AI for malicious purposes, including writing software and automating attacks, poses significant threats to both businesses and individuals.

Citing 2023 data, Kaspersky disclosed it protected 220,000 businesses globally and prevented 6.1 billion attacks. However, with over 411,000 malicious samples detected daily in 2024, the cybersecurity landscape remains highly volatile. Experts call for swift implementation of regulations and ethical guidelines to curb AI misuse.
