Union Minister Jitendra Singh announced there's no prohibition against government departments using AI-based tools, as these technologies hold significant promise for citizen-focused web applications.

Despite the lack of specific restrictions, officials must ensure the safety, security, and confidentiality of public data when utilizing any digital technology or platform, Singh stated in a written response to the Rajya Sabha.

The Ministry of Personnel lacks detailed data on AI usage by department officials. AI tool usage is governed by cyber security norms from relevant authorities like MeitY, Singh added.
