The iPhone 17 series has made a significant impact, surpassing the sales of its predecessor by 14% in early figures from China and the United States, according to a report from research firm Counterpoint.
The base model in particular saw a remarkable increase, with sales nearly doubling in China compared to the iPhone 16 during the same timeframe. Across both markets, the iPhone 17 experienced a sales boost of 31%.
"The base model iPhone 17 is very compelling to consumers, offering great value for money," Senior Analyst Mengmeng Zhang commented. Key enhancements like a better chip, improved display, and higher base storage have appealed to buyers, maintaining the same price point as last year's model.
