Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to lay the foundation stone for an innovative hub at Bio-360 Life Sciences Park, Thiruvananthapuram, on January 23. This state-of-the-art facility, created by CSIR-NIIST under the Ministry of Science and Technology, is designed as a centre for profound technological and entrepreneurial progress in the life sciences sector.

The hub will feature a Centre of Excellence in Ayurveda Research focusing on strategic priority areas like spice incubation and sustainable packaging. It aims to foster an environment conducive to scientific standardization, quality assurance, and scalable manufacturing, promoting a vibrant ecosystem for startups and MSMEs. With a significant focus on AYUSH products, the hub seeks to meet growing international demand.

The initiative is set to harness Kerala's natural resources and scientific talent, promoting advanced biomanufacturing, green hydrogen efforts, and technology-driven agriculture processing. This development aligns with CSIR's national mission for sustainable packaging and the Government of India's goals toward clean energy transition and inclusive economic growth.
