Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has expanded its technology centre in Pune by inaugurating a new R&D wing. This expansion aims to bolster local engineering talent, respond better to Indian market needs, and enhance global innovation. The facility will house over 250 engineers for advanced vehicle development.
Skoda Auto Volkswagen India is set to revolutionize automotive engineering with the unveiling of an expanded technology center in Pune. The newly inaugurated research and development wing underscores the firm’s dedication to fostering local engineering expertise aligned with Indian consumer demands.
Occupying a sprawling 33,000 sq ft, the new facility is designed to accommodate more than 250 engineers. It aims to drive advanced vehicle development, platform engineering, and sustainable mobility solutions. Strengthening the company's local talent pool, this enhancement complements the Chakan plant, aligning with India’s 'Make in India' initiative.
'By creating extra capacity in a vibrant urban hub, we are fortifying our already robust Technology Centre in Pune,' commented Piyush Arora, CEO of Skoda Auto Volkswagen India. This project is pivotal in delivering high-quality solutions rapidly, enhancing localization, and highlighting India as a strategic development hub within the Volkswagen Group.
