The country's spam intensity reaches a staggering 66%, positioning it among the most affected globally. Predominantly, the nuisance calls stem from sales and telemarketing sectors, making up 36% of India's spam calls, with financial services and scams at 18% and 12% respectively. Globally, spam call origins vary, with financial institutions predominant in regions like Indonesia and Mexico.

Such rising figures signify a global issue, highlighting the erosion of trust in unverified calls. Truecaller's CEO, Rishit Jhunjhunwala, emphasizes the mission to restore communication trust and preempt fraud.
