Tesla's Rearview Recall: A Backward Glance
Tesla is recalling over 218,000 vehicles in the U.S. because of delayed rearview camera images that may elevate crash risks. Models 3, Y, S, and X are affected. The issue stems from delays in rearview camera displays. Tesla is addressing this via a software update to ensure driver visibility.
Tesla has announced a recall of over 218,000 vehicles across the United States. The recall is due to a flaw involving delayed rearview camera images, which regulators have identified as a potential crash risk.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) emphasized that the delay in the camera display occurs when the vehicle is shifted into reverse, decreasing driver visibility and safety.
This recall pertains to select Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X vehicles. Tesla has rolled out an over-the-air software update to rectify the issue. This follows a recent closure of an NHTSA probe involving 2.6 million Tesla vehicles, regarding a feature that allowed remote vehicle movement.
