Mount Olympus where Gods live
Frederic Boissonnas, the photographer from Switzerland was accompanied by his pals Daniel Baud Bovy and Christos Kakkalos.
Wondering where Gods live? Here is the answer - at the highest mountain in Greece, Mount Olympus! According to the ancient Greek mythology, Mount Olympus happens to be the place where almighty reside. Doodle commemorates the stoic resistance they offered to the hardships in climbing Olympus.
Most importantly, It is very interesting to note that three men i.e. mortals climbed the mountain in 1913. The 9,573 foot tall Olympus was conquered despite its difficult terrain.
Well, Gods don’t live somewhere which can be easily accessed!
Frederic Boissonnas, the photographer from Switzerland was accompanied by his pals Daniel Baud Bovy and Christos Kakkalos. The third one happened to a Greek hunter who did the guide’s job in the adventure.
Kakkalos being an expert scaler, climbed the mountain barefoot while Boissonnas carrying huge photographic equipment found it a bit tougher.
Tied together, both Boissonnas and Baud Bovy followed the standard procedure for such endeavors.
While climbing the mountain, the trio once mistook a place for the home of Gods. Thinking that their mission was accomplished, they wrote cards explaining their adventure.
But as the mist clear, they found another peak more impressive and heavenly, called Mytikas. They then decided to continue their mission and went forward with the Greek Kakkalos leading them.
They scrambled through the slippery terrain and Boissonnas credited the reason behind this courage to the fire stolen by Mythological Character Prometheus from Athena and Hephaestus.
Prometheus gifted this fire to the humans to help them in situations required. On August 2nd in 1913, they reached their destination and opened ways for others to explore how heavenly Gods’ residence looks like. Their accomplishment remains unparallel.
