BorgWarner sets up facility in Kakkalur to meet increasing demand

BorgWarner, a global leader in providing clean and efficient technology solutions, announced the opening of its expanded facility near here, equipped with a cutting-edge variable cam timing production line.

The new facility at Kakkalur in adjoining Tiruvallur district has been set up to meet the increasing demand of the growing automotive market in the country besides supplying products to South East Asian market, a press release said.

Set up in an area of 4,023 square meters, the facility includes engineering, manufacturing, office space as well as a warehouse, the release said.

"In the newly-built area, BorgWarner will begin the new production line for its VCT (variable cam timing) technology to help vehicle manufacturers improve fuel economy, reliability and engine efficiency", it said.

BorgWarner Inc has manufacturing and technical facilities in 66 locations in 18 countries and employs 29,000 people globally, it added.
