Berlin Airport Flights Grounded Due to Technical Fault

Berlin Airport has temporarily halted all flights until 10 am due to a technical fault. This disruption coincides with global system outages affecting airlines, media companies, banks, and telecom firms. While Zurich Airport is functioning normally, Frankfurt Airport has also cancelled flights to and from Berlin.

Berlin airport has halted all flights until 10 am (0800 GMT) due to a technical fault, a spokesperson told Reuters on Friday.

The spokesperson did not disclose the nature of the issue, which coincides with global system outages affecting airlines, media companies, banks, and telecom firms. American Airlines, Delta Airlines, United Airlines, and Allegiant Air grounded flights shortly after Microsoft's cloud services outage.

A Zurich airport spokesperson confirmed that while Zurich operations remain unaffected, flights to Berlin are cancelled as BER won't accept incoming flights until 1000 GMT. Frankfurt airport has also suspended flights to and from Berlin until 0945 GMT but maintains its other operations normally.

Lufthansa stated that its profile and booking retrieval functions might face limitations and assured it is working on a solution.
