Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced in the assembly that the revenue collection from Manohar International Airport will commence in December. The delay in starting revenue collection was due to litigation and the COVID-19 pandemic, extending the project completion and revenue holiday period.
Sawant stated that the calculation and collection of revenue would be effective from December 7, 2024, with the state's profit share being 36.99 per cent. He assured that the Civil Aviation Department would coordinate with the airport's audit department to determine the state's revenue share.
GFP MLA Vijai Sardesai raised concerns about the Rs 207 crore loss to the state exchequer due to the extended revenue-sharing deadline. He also claimed that GGAIL failed to comply with environmental conditions. Sawant assured that these issues would be addressed.
