Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened on Thursday with a Japanese delegation consisting of Parliament members and business leaders, exploring avenues to enhance cooperation in traditional manufacturing and emerging sectors like semiconductors, electric vehicles (EVs), and green energy.
Modi welcomed the delegation led by Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan, Nukaga Fukushiro. He expressed India's commitment to deepening its Special Strategic and Global Partnership with Japan, highlighting the importance of parliamentary exchanges, investments, skilling, and mobility.
The meeting also saw discussions on consolidating business and economic ties beyond the 2022-27 investment target of 5 trillion Japanese yen. Additionally, the completion of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail project and workforce training in Japanese language and culture were underscored as pivotal collaborative initiatives.
