Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the 32nd International Conference of Agricultural Economists (ICAE) at the National Agricultural Science Centre (NASC) Complex in New Delhi. The inauguration will take place on Saturday morning, as announced by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

The triennial conference, organized by the International Association of Agricultural Economists (IAAE), will run from August 2 to August 7, 2024. India is hosting the ICAE after a gap of 65 years, with the theme 'Transformation Towards Sustainable Agri-Food Systems.'

The event aims to address global challenges such as climate change, natural resource degradation, and rising production costs. It will highlight India's proactive stance on these issues, showcasing advancements in agricultural research and policy. The PMO noted that the conference will serve as a platform for young researchers and professionals to present their work and foster international collaborations.

With around 1,000 delegates from 75 countries participating, the ICAE 2024 will facilitate discussions on various critical topics. Sessions will cover healthy diets, technological innovations, agroecology, gender roles, and more, emphasizing the importance of agricultural economists in achieving sustainable systems.
