Ahmedabad-Mumbai Bullet Train Project: Progress and Innovations

The Ahmedabad-Mumbai high-speed bullet train project is progressing rapidly, with significant completion of viaduct pillars over a 320 km stretch. Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted ongoing work on stations, bridges, and an under-sea tunnel. The project, in collaboration with Japan, aims to revolutionize rail travel in India.

Construction of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai high-speed bullet train project is accelerating, with viaduct pillar work over a 320 km stretch now complete, according to Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

Vaishnaw informed the Rajya Sabha that work on stations and bridges across eight rivers along the 508 km route is in advanced stages. The minister did not commit to a project deadline but noted the notable progress despite COVID-19 disruptions.

The bullet train project, which includes an under-sea tunnel and has adopted advanced technology from Japan, aims to link major cities and create an industrial ecosystem in India.
