Air India Suspends Tel Aviv Flights Amid Middle East Tensions
Air India has suspended its flights to Tel Aviv until August 8 due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The airline offers support to affected passengers, including rescheduling and cancellation waivers. This decision follows a history of suspensions linked to regional tensions.
Air India has announced the suspension of its flights to Tel Aviv until August 8, citing escalating tensions in the Middle East.
The airline, owned by Tata Group, operates five weekly flights to the Israeli city from New Delhi.
'Given the current situation in parts of the Middle East, Air India has suspended its scheduled operations to and from Tel Aviv with immediate effect until August 8, 2024,' the carrier stated on X, adding that they are closely monitoring developments.
The airline is providing support to passengers with confirmed bookings for travel during this period by offering a one-time waiver on rescheduling and cancellation charges.
This follows the cancellation of an Air India flight to Tel Aviv on Thursday and a history of service interruptions due to regional conflicts.
Earlier this year, services to Tel Aviv were briefly halted amid rising tensions in the region but had resumed on March 3 after a five-month suspension following attacks by the Hamas group on the Israeli city.
