Centre Approves Four Major National Highway Projects in Odisha

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced the Centre's approval in principle for four national highway projects in Odisha, valued at Rs 14,000 crore. Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) will be prepared shortly. The projects include major expansions of the Bhubaneswar-Puri, Chandikhole-Barbil, Khurda-Nayagarh, and Kesinga-Junagarh highways.

The Centre has granted in-principle approval for four national highway projects in Odisha worth Rs 14,000 crore, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced on Tuesday.

Following a meeting with Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi, Majhi confirmed that Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for the highway projects would be prepared soon.

The approved projects include widening the Bhubaneswar-Puri highway to six lanes, the Chandikhole-Barbil highway to eight lanes, the Khurda-Nayagarh highway to four lanes, and the Kesinga-Junagarh highway to four lanes. State Works Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan and Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja were also part of the discussions.
