India Approves 12 New Industrial Smart Cities with Rs. 28,602 Crore Investment
India is set to boost industrial growth as the government approves 12 new industrial smart cities under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme with an investment of Rs. 28,602 crore. These projects aim to enhance manufacturing capabilities, create jobs, and foster sustainable development.

In a landmark decision, India is on the brink of a major industrial transformation. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved 12 new project proposals under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP) with an estimated investment of Rs. 28,602 crore.
With strategic planning across 10 states and six major corridors, these projects will enhance India's manufacturing capabilities and economic growth. Industrial nodes will be established in Khurpia, Rajpura-Patiala, Dighi, Palakkad, Agra, Prayagraj, Gaya, Zaheerabad, Orvakal, Kopparthy, and Jodhpur-Pali, aiming to achieve USD 2 trillion in exports by 2030.
Developed as greenfield smart cities, these hubs will feature advanced infrastructure and multi-modal connectivity. The NICDP aligns with the vision of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat,' fostering economic growth and job creation, with a focus on sustainability and environmental stewardship. This initiative reflects the government's commitment to transforming India's industrial sector.
