In an unprecedented initiative, the Prime Minister Internship Scheme is set to kick off with over 50,000 internship opportunities, thanks to contributions from more than 130 companies. Sources revealed registration opens on October 12 as the nation gears up to help young graduates secure valuable work experience.

The online portal became active for companies on October 3, leading to a surge in postings. Top companies like Jubilant Foodworks and Tech Mahindra are leading the charge, providing opportunities across 22 sectors. Notably, the oil, gas, and energy sector feature heavily, alongside travel, hospitality, automotive, and banking industries.

The initiative, budgeted at Rs 800 crore, begins internships on December 2 and plans to involve 1.25 lakh candidates by March 2025. Spearheaded by the Union Budget 2024, the scheme aims for 1 crore internships over five years, offering financial assistance to interns to foster skills across diverse industries nationwide.
