A tour bus accident in Prachinburi province, Thailand, claimed the lives of 18 adults after the vehicle lost control and plummeted into a ditch. The catastrophic event occurred on a downhill slope when the brakes failed, leading to the driver losing control.

Colonel Sophon Phramanee reported the victims were on a study trip, and rescue efforts were swiftly mobilized at the scene, situated 155 km east of Bangkok. Social media platforms were flooded with images showing medics assisting those affected.

In response, Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra expressed condolences and stressed the need for stricter safety checks on vehicles. Drawing on Thailand's high ranking in road fatalities, she warned of legal actions against violations of vehicle standards.
