SpiceJet announced on Tuesday that it is set to resume its Haj flight operations from Srinagar on May 14, with plans to conduct two services to Medina.
The resumption of flights comes after Srinagar, alongside 31 other airports, was temporarily closed for civilian traffic due to escalating military tension between India and Pakistan. Operations at these airports resumed on Monday.
The airline, utilizing Airbus A340 aircraft accommodating 324 passengers each, aims to facilitate the travel of approximately 15,500 Haj pilgrims this year. Earlier in the month, SpiceJet revealed its intention to operate a total of 45 Haj flights, linking cities such as Gaya, Srinagar, Guwahati, and Kolkata to destinations like Medina and Jeddah.
