FAA Rules Out Mechanical Fault in Air India Crash

The FAA has concluded that the Air India Boeing 787 crash was likely not due to a mechanical issue with the fuel control unit or switches. Investigations are focused on the fuel control switches, which showed no issues during inspection, although cockpit recordings suggest human error.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced Thursday that their preliminary findings rule out mechanical issues as the cause of last month's fatal Air India Boeing 787 crash.

FAA administrator Bryan Bedford reiterated their confidence in the findings during an air show in Wisconsin, asserting that comprehensive tests on the fuel control units were conducted, confirming that the unit's performance isn't in question.

The Air India tragedy, which resulted in 241 fatalities, is now being investigated for potential human error, particularly focusing on the possibility of deliberate manipulation of the fuel controls.
