The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued a tender to recruit a consultant for conducting a feasibility study on a prospective highway. This thoroughfare is proposed to connect Tronica City to the under-construction Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad Expressway, as disclosed by an official on Friday.
The study will meticulously assess pedestrian crossings, vehicular speed, and traffic flow complications, easing congestion in the National Capital Region (NCR). The ensuing 65-kilometre highway is a component of the Delhi decongestion initiative, announced by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and approved in a high-level June meeting with Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari.
Intended to link five major roads, this project aims to decongest internal routes and offer intercity traffic alternatives. Incorporating an advanced traffic management system, it promises real-time updates and emergency services for users, with construction costs estimated at Rs 7500 crore.
