The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ramped up its scrutiny of IndiGo, India's largest airline by market share, amid significant operational disruptions. As part of the increased oversight, DGCA officials have begun closely monitoring the airline's operations, including its refund process, from IndiGo's headquarters.

In response to widespread flight cancellations resulting from planning failures in implementing new crew duty norms, the regulator has deployed two officials at IndiGo's Gurgaon headquarters. These officials are tasked with submitting daily reports and ensuring compliance with civil aviation requirements. DGCA Chief Executive Pieter Elbers has been summoned to provide detailed insights into these disruptions.

With thousands of flights canceled, disrupting travel plans nationwide, DGCA officers are also assessing situations at 11 domestic airports. The airline's operations have reportedly stabilized, yet the regulatory body remains vigilant, deploying senior officials to ensure the airline meets safety standards and service commitments.
