Tripura's tea industry is on an upward trajectory, bringing economic benefits and jobs, said Industries and Commerce Minister Shantana Chakma. The sector has grown significantly, supporting livelihoods statewide.
Ministers, including Shantana Chakma and Sports Minister Tinku Roy, participated in a 'Run for Tea Rally' to boost the local tea sector. TTDC Chairman Samir Ghosh highlighted a reduction in losses, attributing gains to quality and marketing strategies.
With Tripura producing around 90 lakh kg of tea in 2024, new ventures include a model ecotourism initiative at Ludhua Tea Estate in South Tripura. Plans include recreational facilities, aiming to further invigorate state revenue flows.
