Union Minister Sanjay Seth announced the strategic development of Jharkhand's Adityapur industrial area to support the defence sector's needs. Known primarily for its auto parts production, Adityapur is poised to become a prominent industrial hub under this initiative.
Speaking at the inaugural state-level MSME conclave on defence production, Seth emphasized India's significant strides in defence exports, now reaching over 90 countries. He noted the importance of MSMEs in achieving self-reliance in this sector and highlighted the conclave's role in fostering these opportunities.
Seth further remarked on the collaborative efforts needed from the state government to boost the industrial regions of Jamshedpur-Adityapur, Ranchi, and Bokaro into defence manufacturing corridors. Inder Agarwal, President of the Adityapur Small Industries Association, reinforced the area's growing recognition in defence equipment manufacturing alongside auto parts.
