In a remarkable development for the Indian automotive industry, automobile exports surged by 24% in 2025, according to data from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). This growth has been driven by robust demand for cars, two-wheelers, and commercial vehicles in international markets.

The total number of vehicles exported reached an impressive 63,25,211 units, marking a significant rise from the 50,98,474 units recorded in 2024. Among these, passenger vehicles saw an increase, with exports climbing to 8,63,233 units, a 16% rise from the previous year.

Leading the charge was Maruti Suzuki, which alone dispatched 3.95 lakh passenger vehicles in 2025. The company is set on achieving its goal of 4 lakh unit exports in FY26. Meanwhile, two-wheeler and commercial vehicle exports also saw substantial upticks, notably a 27% increase in motorcycle shipments.
