The much-anticipated Mira-Bhayandar metro service is slated to commence operations next month, announced Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik on Monday. This new development is expected to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance public transportation in the region.
The metro, an extension of Mumbai Metro Line 9, links Dahisar (East) to Mira-Bhayandar in Thane district. Sarnaik revealed that the infrastructure project is in its final stage, with major roads set to be concreted over the next couple of years for improved city connectivity.
In addition to transportation upgrades, the city will soon benefit from a stable water supply from the Surya Dam, addressing long-standing water issues. Sarnaik also highlighted the political climate post-civic polls and regional identity controversies that affected recent elections.
