In a dramatic incident on Sunday, a moving car caught fire at Kuttikanam, but five Ayyappa devotees inside managed to escape unharmed. Officials from the Peerumade fire station rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call at approximately 4:30 pm, successfully extinguishing the fire within 10 minutes.
The passengers, hailing from Tamil Nadu, were returning from the Sabarimala temple when they noticed smoke emanating from their vehicle. Acting swiftly, they evacuated the car, avoiding any injuries in the process, according to local officers.
